Introducing Dameon Andersen: Full Stack Developer
Dameon is an experienced software developer. Having started his career as a chef, Dameon made the move to software development four years ago.
Global factory solutions specialist, Facteon, has bolstered its executive team with the appointment of a new Head of Finance – former Deputy Managing Director of Hella New Zealand, Tony Horton.
Joining Facteon this week, Tony brings more than three decades of manufacturing industry experience. In addition to his role at Hella New Zealand, he has also held leadership roles at both Healthscope NZ and Dynamic Communications.
Having left Hella New Zealand after more than 20 years with the company, Tony is looking forward to applying his expertise in his new role at Facteon.
“At Hella, I became familiar with the use of modern technologies and the adoption of the industry’s best practice to help a New Zealand company thrive on the world stage.
“I have always found the elegant use of technology and systems in all areas of a business energising and interesting, so this opportunity appealed as much to my skillset as it did to my personal interests. This position with Facteon was just the new challenge I was looking for,” explains Tony.
He adds that New Zealand has the fantastic ability to provide technological solutions that can be applied all over the world.
“Some might say we’re too small to compete with the bigger markets, but sometimes you just need to approach things differently. New Zealand and Facteon are both forward-thinking and innovative places to be.”
Of the company’s newest hire, General Manager - Facteon Group, John Cochrane, says, “We are thrilled to welcome Tony to the Facteon team. His wealth of expertise and genuine passion for our industry mean he’s the perfect fit for this role.
“Facteon has a strong mechanical design and automation legacy which is further enhanced by our digital intelligence offering. We’re increasingly using Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 technologies for our clients. It’s an interesting time for our business and we’re looking forward to working with Tony as we navigate unprecedented global challenges and strive to attract new customers in New Zealand and overseas.”
Facteon partners with some of the world’s most trusted brands and businesses – such as Fisher & Paykel, Haier, and GE Appliances - to design, implement and maintain their production plants and machinery.
